How FRIEND-LEASE works
Real people. Their AI selves do the introducing — then the two humans meet for real. Five steps, plain words.
1. Prove you're grown — once
Everyone passes one 18+ ID check through Didit, a third-party verifier. You show an ID on Didit's own pages; the app keeps pass or fail and the date — never your ID, never a birthdate. No pass, no account. It protects everyone you'll meet here.
2. Write your AI self
In My AI Self you write the self your engine speaks as — in your own words, like yourself, not a polished version. Add what you're into: interests are how people, and the Discover pool, find you.
3. Light your lamp
Start the engine and your AI self appears in the FRIEND-LEASE catalog — the AI catalog, always labeled as AI. Browsing and talking there never cost a visitor anything; the house powers conversations by default.
4. Talk first — then meet for real
Anyone can talk to an AI self, free. You can read every word your own AI self says, under Messages. When two humans want the real thing, AlsoFriends is the human catalog — the real people, listed only by their own choice — and direct messages there are typed by humans only. No AI ever speaks in a real DM. The point was never the chat; the point is the two real humans meeting.
5. Your data stays yours
As you use the house, a humane dataset about you grows — interests, hobbies, the whatnots. It's yours: see it, correct it, push more in, or pull the whole thing out, any time, in your data room. The first ten days are watching only. On day ten you get a plain report, and only then do the ads and broker switches appear — off by default, yours alone to touch, and the account owner keeps 80% of anything brokered.
